Today’s cocktail is an homage to the greatest saga of all times, Star Wars. One of my new favorite TV shows is The Mandalorian, and even if you haven’t seen it yet, I’m pretty sure you’ve stumbled across pictures of Baby Yoda (whose name we finally learned was Grogu in Season 2) when he flooded the internet last year. The storyline is captivating, and Pedro Pascal’s performance as the Mandalorian is simply flawless. Seriously, I could talk about it for days…

And let’s not forget that this month we celebrated “May the 4th be with you”  (i.e. Star Wars Day), so what better month to craft a themed cocktail, right??

Alright ladies and gentlemen, he is green, he is wise, he speaks in inverted sentences, snacks on stolen frog eggs, and has a questionable sense of style… I give you the Drink Me, You Will.

Drink Me, You Will

1 1/2 ounces Calvados
1 ounce apple cider
1/2 ounce sage simple syrup
1/2 ounce lemon juice
6 basil leaves
Garnish: sage leaves

Instructions:

Add the Calvados, apple cider, sage simple syrup, lemon juice and basil leaves to a shaker with ice and shake.
Strain the mixture into a Martini glass.
Garnish with 2 fresh sage leaves. If possible, clip to either side of the glass using miniature clothespins or a pick. You guessed it, we’re going for the Yoda look.

Take that first delightful sip. Ahhh…

Now while you’re slowly sipping this meticulously crafted cocktail, let’s talk delicious interior designs. When I think of spaces inspired by a galaxy far, far away, I envision playful, futuristic, and pop culture-inspired rooms. I think of unique and immersive designs. BUT…

Your home doesn’t have to look like a scene straight outta Comic-Con. There is a way to balance the overall designs with inspiration from your favorite movies and tv shows, of course, in extremely elevated in a cool and intentional way.

Wondering what those delicious interior designs look like? Let me share a few of my faves…

#BestSippedWith: Graphic Patterns & Bold Colors

Now this is what I call an immersive experience! This playful space has so much personality, and the mixture of prints, textures, metals all adds to its mystique, just like the Mandalorian. The bold patterns and palette could easily blend with your favorite memorabilia. Add a Grogu figurine to the decor, or a Mandalorian helmet instead of a vase, sip a Drink Me, You Will! and you have Star Wars chic!

Pro Tip: Many people believe that you need to match the color of your inspiration piece (ahem, Baby Yoda Green), but it’s actually more subtle and artful if you don’t. You can opt for one shade lighter, similar to the wallpaper in this image. It will instantly set the tone without feeling overpowering or “themed.” Brilliant!

#BestSippedWith: Eclectic Interiors with BB-8 Vibes

This room screams pop culture and BB-8 vibes with its oversized patterned floor (throwback to Andy Warhol?), mismatched yet on-point furnishings, and futuristic vibe.

All I want to do is hang out here, geek out over the best Mandalorian fight scenes (and cutest Grogu moments), or play board games all night long… while sipping on a Star Wars-inspired cocktail, of course!

#BestSippedWith: Interiors of the Future

If you thought the only way to create a themed design was by leaning on bold colors, this space proves us wrong. Here, futuristic goes in a whole different direction with moon-like spaciousness, serenity, and a serious stormtrooper vibe.

Personally, I would even incorporate some cool Star Wars memorabilia framed on the wall that you can admire while sitting by the fireplace and sipping on a nerdy cocktail. Welcome to the future, my fellow space explorers!

#BestSippedWith: Bar Essentials

  1. This Star Wars themed black rug would be an (inter)stellar focal point of your delicious interior design. Pair it with some white furniture and you’ve nailed the stormtrooper look! (Image Credit)
  2. The Millenium Falcon goes miniature to assist you with all your bottle-opening needs. Need I say more? I didn’t think so. Add to cart. (Image Credit)
  3. Will you be showing your support for the Rebel Alliance or joining the Galactic Empire?  Either way, these drinkware silhouettes will help you do it in style. (Image Credit)
  4. Has there ever been cooler barware than Star Wars barware? Not in this galaxy. Add these sci-fi beauties to your at-home bar for a space-inspired vibe that delights. (Image Credit)
  5. And what goes best with a glass of whiskey? Large sized ice. And not just any ice, Death Star ice. You’re welcome. (Image Credit)
  6. Do I even have to explain this one? Of course, you need a light side/dark side switch! Cue the role playing… (Image Credit)

If you’re feeling as inspired I am to let your inner geek shine through (um, can we make Geek Chic a thing?!), now is the time to craft that delicious interior. And it doesn’t even have to be Star Wars themed — you can choose any pop culture reference. Marvel. Harry Potter. Stranger Things. You name it!

The best part? You don’t have to do it alone. Creating sophisticated spaces that tell your story happens to be my specialty… chat, we should! 😉
